This shouldn’t be a difficult season to predict for the Heat now that their starting line-up reads like
Bam Adebayo C
Giannis Antetokounmpo PF
Andrew Wiggins SF
Davion Mitchell PG
Klay Thompson SG
Combine that size and power with the speed Coach Spo wants to breed into the culture of the team, and there should be little doubt about the ultimate result at season’s end.
Sure, there might be season-ending or -interrupting injuries to the top players, but the reserves are nearly as capable, alphabetically:
Ryan Cornwell SG
Tre Donaldson G
Simone Fontecchio SF
Myron Gardner SF
Tim Hardaway, Jr. SG
Keshad Johnson SF
Nikola Jovic PF
Pelle Larsson G
Bobby Portis, Jr. PF
Dru Smith SG
One doubt lingers in at least one mind, mine, and that is the mid- to late-season effects the emphasis on speed, particularly in transition opportunities, can and often has: exhaustion! We have seen that in several games in the past when that strategy was being implemented and it sure can raise its head in the future if the coaching staff isn’t very careful in managing the individual players’ playing time.
