Guy Harvey Foundation Hosts Second Annual International Ocean Film Festival Fundraiser in Fort Lauderdale

In support of World Ocean Day and year-round ocean conservation, the Guy Harvey Foundation (GHF) recently hosted the second annual International Ocean Film Festival. Guests enjoyed a series of ocean-inspired short films from a diverse group of filmmakers representing four countries, followed by a Q&A with GHF CEO Jessica Harvey and Bob Powell, CEO of Brightmark, a company that is creating solutions for waste through circular innovations with cutting-edge technology. Proceeds from the film festival, raffle and silent auction support GHF’s education and outreach efforts, in partnership with Broward County Parks and the City of Deerfield Beach, to provide Broward County students with hands-on STEAM experiences. “Visually sharing the wonders of our oceans is so impactful as we promote ocean conservation,” said Harvey. “We appreciate all who join us on this journey, and we especially thank Bob for his time and insights and of course our sponsors who continue to support our mission.” Presented by the Guy Harvey Foundation, the second annual International Ocean Film Festival was made possible by generous donations from JM Family Enterprises, Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation, the City of Deerfield Beach, Brightmark, Open Water, Tervis and 4Imprint. With a focused mission to better understand and conserve the ocean environment, the Guy Harvey Foundation (GHF) collaborates with local, national and international organizations to conduct scientific research and provides funding to affiliated researchers who share this objective. The GHF also develops and hosts cutting-edge educational programs that help educators to foster the next era of marine conservationists, ensuring that future generations can enjoy and benefit from a properly balanced ocean ecosystem.
