Fizz But No Pop

When the season began, it appeared evident that the Miami Marlins needed more power in their lineup in order to get enough base runners across the plate to stay in the pennant hunt.  Unfortunately, we were right.

As expected, the brightest light has been Luis Arraez who at this writing is batting for an impressive .376 average, with limited extra base hits.  The only meaningful power has been that displayed by Jorge Soler, with 17 home runs as of this date.

De La Cruz has maintained his average near .300 as has Sanchez. Jazz Chisholm is hitting a disappointing .229 and that in a nutshell is the story of the team so far and what we expect to continue to be the case for the remainder of the year barring some unexpected additions.
