“Runway to the Cure” is hosted by the Maugee family and Team Crizzy to raise funds for research into treatments for all those affected by Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA). FA is a rare progressive and life-shortening neuromuscular disease that affects thousands of people worldwide. Christian and Isabel were diagnosed at age nine and each year they have more difficulty with everyday activities. On behalf of their children and all their friends affected by FA, they act with a sense of urgency! A special evening will be held February 1, at 6 pm, at the Banyan Air Hangar located at the Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport that will feature a buffet dinner, beer and wine, a silent auction and beautiful music. All proceeds benefit FARA, The Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance, a national public non-profit to support their mission to fund and facilitate research to cure FA.
