Love is in the air and the kitchen! Valentine’s Day was celebrated early with Feeding South Florida – the leading hunger-relief organization in South Florida. The nonprofit organization hosted “Love in the Kitchen” with Celebrity Chef Chris Valdes at Feeding Palm Beach County on February 1. The event, presented by Sysco, featured a cooking class, wine tasting, decadent desserts, raffles and live entertainment to support Feeding South Florida’s mission to end hunger in South Florida. Guests enjoyed an immersive cooking class led by renowned Chef Valdes, a Miami-born and raised chef, actor, philanthropist, celebrity caterer and cookbook author of “One with The Kitchen.” Chef Valdes has been featured on Food Network, Good Morning America, LIVE with Kelly and Ryan, The Sherri Show, Access Hollywood, and co-hosted Roku’s “Que Delicioso!” Currently, in South Florida, there are over 1.2 million food insecure individuals, and one in nine individuals in South Florida remains uncertain about where they will get their next meal due to inflation, the strained supply chain, rising fuel prices and increased housing costs, among other factors. All proceeds raised from the event will allow Feeding South Florida to fulfill its mission to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts, and transforming lives through innovative programming and education.
