Dunn’s Run
More Than A Race

October 2 marked the 26th Annual Dunn’s Run in Deerfield Beach benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County which helps youth ages 6-17 years old develop skills and values during their critical period of development. The event was a tremendous success, and we thought our readers would be interested in some post-race comments from the organizers and participants.

Jim Dunn was the race’s founder and his son, Sean, commented that “It’s so heartwarming having so many longtime volunteers and sponsors committed to the run and the Boys & Girls Clubs. The volunteers all knew and loved my Dad. Everybody has a Jim Dunn story and I have to say that is my absolute favorite part of race day morning. He touched so many hearts with kindness and his sense of humor. I couldn’t be more proud of my Dad and Dunn’s Run. Mom and I are humbled and honored to share in this legacy.”

Ricardo Fraxedas from Davie, FL was the Top Overall in the 5-Mile Run and said that the Run was “well organized with a friendly staff and a great post-race scene.” He said the race had a special meaning because “it contributes to a good cause, and (Jim Dunn’s) family’s continued wholehearted involvement makes it still a special event.” He said he would likely return for next year’s edition.

Early Finisher Emily Daycock from Dania, FL thought that “This year’s event was awesome and very glad to have it back for the 1st time since the pandemic in 2019. It goes to a great cause, and I love doing it as a competitive distance runner doing the 5-mile segment. I always look forward to this race! Yes, I will be back next year.”

The Dunn family and all the volunteers are delighted with the extremely positive feedback and the fact that just about everyone is planning on returning next year.
